Church Fellowship

St. John's Episcopal Church Fellowship is open to all members of our church. The annual subscription is £3 and non members are welcome to attend any meeting.

The committee for 2009/10 is Chairman Ruth Harris, Treasurer Margaret Smith, Secretary Val Fox, with members Mabel Carcary and Dorothy Sinclair responsible for the all important refreshments.
Meetings, as detailed in the programme, are held in the Threshold from September through to May and consist of a short business session, followed by the speaker and conclude with tea/coffee and biscuits.

Over the past year we have enjoyed Christmas Lunch at the Salutation Hotel, an afternoon tea party with quiz, a successful fund raising Coffee Morning and a very  enjoyable outing to Pitlochry Festival Theatre to see "Whisky Galore-The Musical."
Speakers have included Helen Leeming telling us about her eventful holiday to Australia and Helen Gardiner describing her life as "The Courier Farmer's Wife."
John Taylor explained how "Mission Aviation Fellowship" (MAF) , working with well known charities, uses volunteer pilots to fly aid workers and essential supplies to remote disaster areas.

In September The Very Rev. Dr James Simpson provoked some hilarity as he talked us through "the ageing process" but he also asked us to consider what is really important in life.

In October meeting we welcomed Bruce and Elaine Cameron who gave an illustrated presentation on their experience of being Resident Scholars based at Bruton  Church in Williamsburg ,Virginia.

Novembers meeting saw David Torrie, talking on the subject of 'Desparate Dan lives in Dundee', and we had our Christmas lunch in the Salutation Hotel in December.

Fellowship meetings are informal and fun. Anyone who would like to join us is assured of a warm welcome. All money raised during the year is donated to various  charities chosen by members.
