Lord Christ, you rule over all the world. Give us grace to prepare the way for you to come and renew your world.
Lord of hope, Lord of love,
Let your kingdom come.

Lord Christ, come with the Spirit of wisdom to your Church, that we may welcome all people just as you have welcomed us. Guide Patrick our Rector, David our Bishop, and all your Church throughout the world, especially our Anglican Communion, to seek your will. Help us to turn from complacency and squabbling, and with one voice glorify your name.
Lord of hope, Lord of love,
Let your kingdom come.

Lord Christ, come with the Spirit of counsel to the leaders of our nation and all in authority in the world, that they may decide with equity for the meek. Guide those taking part in the talks between Europe and Africa, and lead them to decisions that give justice for the poor. Help us to recognise our own responsibilities and challenge our leaders to work for righteousness.
Lord of hope, Lord of love,
Let your kingdom come.

Lord Christ, come with the Spirit of understanding to those who are involved in conflict, that all people may live in harmony with one another. Have mercy on those suffering in Darfur, Iraq, Iran and the Holy Land. Help us to work for your peace in all places.
Lord of hope, Lord of love,
Let your kingdom come.

Lord Christ, come with the Spirit of knowledge to all your people, stewards of the earth that you created. Guide those taking part in the UN climate change summit, and lead them to agreement in the best way to care for your world. Help us to play our part in restoring the earth.
Lord of hope, Lord of love,
Let your kingdom come.

Lord Christ, come with the Spirit of might to those who feel weak and afraid, unwelcome and alone. Give strength and healing to those who suffer in body, mind or spirit, and hope to those who mourn. Help us to trust your steadfastness and encourage one another for your glory.
Lord of hope, Lord of love,
Let your kingdom come.

Give us grace, Father,
to live each day as if it were the day of Christ’s coming.
May we be urgent to prepare his way
by fighting all evil,
by preaching the gospel,
by feeding the hungry,
by releasing the oppressed,
and by healing the sick.
Help us to hasten the coming of your kingdom
and bring glory to the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
